This season two episode premiered on December 23,
1965.
A blizzard sends settlers to the central fort for
refuge, provisions are low and an expectant Indian couple arrive to discover
there is no room at the inn and are relegated to an animal stall.
The story stops leaning on the nativity there and
rather provides us with a tale of survival, suspicion, and a moral about
prejudice in the end.
On one, hand minor stuff, on the other, Fess Parker’s calm
integrity as Daniel Boone and a script a tick or two above standard fare make
this not bad Yuletide Western viewing.
My first experience with Parker as Boone as opposed to
Davy Crockett. It won’t be my last.
